With a specialty in hard-to-obtain products with luxurious and cutting-edge appeal, retailer Aloha Rag celebrates their 20th Anniversary by collaborating with Converse on the Jack Purcell Zip. As the owner of Aloha Rag, which was founded in Waikiki in 1991 before expanding to Oahu and New York City, Tatsugo Yoda applies an artistic look to the shoe that is balanced with a nod to his admiration for luxury.
Exclusive to Converse First String, the Jack Purcell Zip has been given an off-white sole with an upper that combines crinkle blue, white leather and cool blue linen. More detailed design cues include a grey-blue Jack Purcell “smile,” a calf-leather interior, a debossed Aloha Rag interior-logo, as well as silver zipper, eyelets and single pyramid spike on the heel stay.
The shoe is available now at Aloha Rag stores in New York City and Honolulu and online at aloharag.com. Availability will extend to Converse First String retailers beginning July 15. Retail will be $120 in sizes 3-13.
