In recent months it seems, the vulcanized sole has replaced more technologically advanced (and truly classic) soles on some of the most memorable of Nike sneakers. The Flight Lite, Delta Force, and the Air Force 180 are the three that stand out in my mind. For me personally the Flight Lite High-turned-Auto Flight was what really had me questioning the vulcanized sole approach. Mainly because when I was younger, the Flight Lite was one of those shoes my parents could never afford that always held a place in my memory.\ufffd Although I was disappointed, I think some of the new color combinations available on the Auto Flight eased my discomfort. However, it wasn't enough to have me purchasing a pair. The recent release of the carbon fiber and Olympic versions of the Nike Auto Force 180 had me shaking my head again.
