Today, the Los Angeles Lakers franchise took to its official Twitter account to unveil a classic throwback they will be wearing five times over the course of this season.
The jersey is none other than the classic blue and yellow "MPLS" jerseys worn by Lakers back during the franchise's inception in Minneapolis in the 1940s. This Nike Classic edition jersey sports all of the details of the original, but adds the newly implemented branding patch on the chest, and features Nike's lightweight Aeroswift construction.
The Lakers are scheduled to rock these beloved throwbacks on Oct. 25 versus the Washington Wizards, Nov. 15 versus Philadelphia 76ers, Dec. 27 versus the Memphis Grizzlies, Jan. 3 versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, and March 7 versus the Orlando Magic.
Hopefully, Nike has its quality issues handled by the time Lonzo Ball and the rest of the Lakers suit up in these on the hardwood.
